I had an editor recently demand that we deliver 1080p Prores 422 "raw files" for use in a TVC.

Naturally we found a different editor and send .r3d.

Yup. This is the only way of getting 4K out of the Epic and only up to 60 FPS. Plus its SDI only.

i did'nt realises it was only 60p as well!! 7k plus the pointles module or plus one!!

I believe in red ,the image the codec and work flow but i think making this a priority would be so helpful to reds customers

If I had the choice i would for sure but how many times to get that when working as a DP

A multiple SDI out module with multiple LUT support, that could have one port for 1080P 4:4:4 would be killer. Proxies are still important especially when you're not a one man-band, and have to interact with other post guys down the line.

A lot of the onset DITs can be pulling in 444 and pumping out color corrected files for the editor. I love the power of RAW. But sometimes as an editor myself I just like having prores especially when I'm editing on a laptop and don't have access to my Mac Pro 'Tubes.

It's not an "all the time" thing. But it's almost 2015, this camera SHOULD have 4:4:4 out as an option. The more I can cater to a post production's demands, the more likely I am that they'll pick Dragon over "ugh lets just get an Alexa, it's easier" which does happen often.

I could'nt agree with you more!! I hate having that lets get an Alexa in it just works conversation. I'm actually being forced to shoot on the bm production camera for easy 4k pro res work flow next Tuesday
