  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2013..

I've barely unpacked my bags from this years NAB!

haha, oh man that's so uncomfortably close to the truth. My suitcase is still in the middle of my living room. I can barely seem to get it put away before it's back out since NAB. On my last trip I found my NAB pass still in a pocket.

My Guess for NAB 2013 the camera/upgrade with
- a very competitive price
-no need of extra lights to shoot in the dark
-no need to waste time for focus adjustments
-in built option for recording raw or pro res etc

the future definitely is going to continue with raw however time savings in adjusting focus will be the next big thing as well.
:-)

Assuming that the Mayan calendar doesn't hold water... you need to book your reservations for NAB 2013.

Trust me... if anything I have ever said rings true, you need to be there.

Jim

Jim... are we really starting this, this early?... my head can't handle my imagination till then... :emote_headwall:

But just to be clear... we won't have to wait until NAB for Dragon... riyat?

Right. Dragon will be out before the end of this year for EPICs. My realistic guess: something like an 8K sensor, about 34mm x 17mm. Or perhaps it will be a 16K native sensor with 8K output. Who knows?

Either that or a DSLR with a Dragon sensor with several mount options (I doubt it, though).

IMAX RED Camera Please!!

Epic & Scarlet High FrameRates @ 6K

Seems like 4k will kick into high gear by 2013, we saw tons of recorders and bodies to support 4K output a few months ago. It's around the corner, all we need is 55'' 4K screens to become affordable.

You have no idea...

Jim

the end of this year will prove to be most amazing.. think Jim + god & aliens.....

I would guess that RED is bringing out a Lytro-like system, so everything will become metadata in RED land, even focus!

Integrated 3D, two sensors and parallel processing chains in one box, convergence and pitch alignment of the sensor images automated with fluid prisms, one on vertical plane, one on horiztonal plane, controlled by adapted autofocus distance finding systems, Ari Presler's SI3D/Fraunhofer 3D alignment monitoring overlay display on screen? - Getting warm or as cold as the Antarctic ice??.

I've suggested this to a few other players but nothing has seen the light of day yet. I should have troll-patented it myself, made an unearned fortune and then I could afford to buy the RED. Alas I just dream and lurk.

Something to replace the dying Mac Pro line? A easy to upgrade PC/Linux powerhorse!

Jim,

I got a mega project and wanna shoot it on 645 next September ;)
