  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2011...

Perry,

The NAB show is free for Attendees that pre-register online. http://www.nab.org/

Your travel expense of course. Lodging, food, drinks and gambling if you are so inclined.

I spend a minimum of two days on the floor after spending time on the Exhibitor Lists determining those exhibitors we need to check out. Then we try arranging them in a convenient traffic pattern to eliminate wasted time. We see all we can fit into the day. We have spent up to a week there, while fun, it impacts other things.

You most likely have heard that RED will be on the Show Floor again. Don't know about a Red Day Event at the moment.
I also am not seeing the free pre register, im gonna have my 10g's ready just incase something scarlet based happens and I can throw in my $$ for mine :), ( have been saving for a few years now, maybe that will be the day fingers crossed

Wayne, I have registered and am not seeing a free option. Can you post a link?

Thanks!

Registration is different from past years. I just registered and instead of a confirmation, NOTHING. You didn't have to enter any credit card info right? I didn't either. If I don't get an email from them I'll call them by phone. I'll have to get back to you on this.

Thanks for lookin into it :) Can't wait for the show! Had so much fun last time.

cool man I cant wait for the red day announcement, like I said I'm a def newbie to the RED group even though ive followed it since day one. Ive always been an advocate, but unfortunately I havent had the income in the past to get a RED of my own :( I just hoped that if I was ever dying of something, RED would participate in the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION and make my only dream come true ;) but I have recently come on a great job and have been and will be saving my ass off for the thing ive been wanting most for 4 years, my RED SCARLET, or EPIC-s I havent decided yet :)

Many Thanks CHASE!!!

I am now trying to decide what days to come, probably 11-14. Any suggestions?

I came to previous reduser NANB Parties and didn't stay for all of the exhibit days. Very excited for this year!

... considering most of us already know abour Melvin could this be "the surprise"?

final HW spec for Scarlet

final HW spec for Scarlet

RED will have a fairly large booth at NAB 2011 this year... in the lower floor of the South Hall. We will show working EPIC, Scarlet, REDray and a new 4K reel. Plus a surprise.

Stop by and see us!

Jim

I didn't see the question so far so I'll ask it. We've seen (at CES) the working Scarlet prototype as Ted pointed out. What is the working plan for Scarlet going into the NAB?
Do you plan to have a final outer shell design and final HW spec (meaning number of boards etc. and package options CF or SSD) for Scarlet ready for NAB?

I always wondered ... Tex looks like a machine that is actually powered and could do something, but I'm not sure, since I don't see any motors.

Does Tex actually function? Is he remote control?

Or is he just a very elaborate but dangerous static toy?

Just wondering ...

Well there are obviously some hydraulics involved for the legwork and there could be a cylindrical battry behind the "heart" of the unit. Perhaps a few modificatons and you have a fierce guardian for your Epic that's 1/20th the size of Melvin.

Tex doesn't exist anymore as I understand it. He and Jarred had a bit of a fight. Tex lost, but not without inflicting bodily harm.
