I'm telling you... it is getting pretty exciting around here. We are finally "tuning" the sensor and figuring it out. The results are really incredible. It was great last week... even better today. There are a few more knobs to twist and we'll be ready to post some frame grabs.

I'm now shooting only ISO 800 and 2000 for testing. 800 is the new 320... only better.

Perfect,, imagine in two weeks: exponentially better! haha

Jim,

thanks a lot.

Finally amazing news.

tease;

today, you are the hot girl in school with the pretty face and the hot body that talks dirty to all the guys, but then never lets anyone touch you...

bummer. but stoked...keep on pushing!

Nice. I wonder how ISO 2000 looks :)

I hope ~ISO1280 is clean at 1080p from Quad HD.

Are you planning on posting that type of example? I would really appreciate it!

Frame grabs should probably be posted on the 30th so you have some eye candy to go along with all the type... :-)

Great News! How will the 2/3 Mysterium sensor compare with the images created for Speed Racer and Star Wars? Speed Racer had the best looking 2/3 images I've seen so far, and I'm not just referring to the cranked up color pallet.....

The 2/3" looks incredible, too... just not as big. :-)

What a tease! You have to know what this is doing to us man! Well, me anyway...:banghead:

BTW, is the 2/3" footy shot with a RMP???

I'll have eaten enough candy by then. I want some now! :D

OT: Are you going to update the website on the 30th with the new info as well? Also, does the 30th announcement include pricing info?

Sorry for all of the questions, I just thought that maybe I could indulge my sweet tooth tonite.

Mr. J
ISO 800 sounds great! But why testing at 2000? It is safe to assume that everything between 800 to 2000 looks good and you are pushing the envelope as far as you can? Is 2000 the highest ISO now?
thx!

Can't even wait. I'll literally be glued to my computer. Might even dual monitor it just for the sake of having multiple RU/SU windows open. =]

My test bed is a modified RED ONE. ISO 2000 is the highest it goes. The new cameras will go higher. The cleaner the sensor, the more you can push it.

I have just stopped down the aperture to the equivalent of ISO 16000. Amazing to get a useable image.
