I'm sure this has been answered before so if someone could point me in the direction of a previous thread it would be much appreciated.

Can the Mysterium X upgrade be done in Europe or will I have to send our Red One back to Cali? .... a bit late to the party but now ready.

Many thanks,

Mike.

Unfortunately the MX upgrade has to be done in a special facility in the US. I guess it was too expensive a facility to replicate at the other Red international bases.

Maybe no longer correct. Look at http://www.red.com/service_centers

RED Europe Limited
RED is committed to offering customers with better and faster global support options for RED products, especially where there is a vast geographic distance to existing RED service centers. RED Europe Ltd. was established to offer customers direct local access to the same RED product sales, service and support options in Europe.

Red-One M-X Upgrade is as service offered.

Maybe Alan Piper can jump in...

There it clearly states that they can do the upgrade of the M to the mx! Sounds good! It also says that direct sales with shipping is possible. I wonder if that means the Epic x's can come from England? That could save us a load of money! (sorry for highjacking the thread for a moment)

Send an email to mx@red.com -- you will get all your questions answered.

i just got camera 6399 back from California via Red Europe, where it was upgraded to MX.
You can drop off at and collect from Red Europe, and they take care of the air freight, but they cannot do the upgrade there.
Turnaround was good - 14 days.

Hello...
I know -> direct answers only from RED Reps themselves but as I'm not the owner of the Camera maybe it's possible to get an answer over here.
I'm DIT, the company I work for owns a RED One (M) and I'd be very happy if we'd get it upgraded to M-X -> but it's not a decision I can make...
Currently there are (too many) concerns about the turnaround, the shipping (carnet/customs) and so on... We're located in central europe.

Does anybody know the current turnaround if the camera ("naked" body only) would be taken directly to RED HQ in LA?
1 week...? 2 weeks...? even more?

Or details about the other options with London/UK?
There's not too many info available on that topic.

thanks!

We got our MX done during NAB 2011 within 4 days. The bare camera body was given to their LAKE FOREST address..but you must confirm it with your BOMB Squad on this before you make any decision.
to take the camera

I hope it helps.
