The new Mysterium-X sensor in EPIC S35 is pretty badass. Top is ISO 500 (super clean) and bottom is ISO 4000. The detail in the back curtain on the ISO 4000 is due to stopping down the aperture. I didn't have enough NDs. :-)

Of particular note is the fact that your handheld meter now matches ISO rating.

Wow, ISO 4000 looks like RED ONE in the 700 range!

that is impressive,
do you have something in between ISO 1600?

I'd love to see five seconds of footage. I can never judge noise by stills. But I'm onboard if it can come out in time for our next film.

ISO 1000. Of course no post noise reduction.

Jim, I think the beverage in the background is the explanation to why you never sleep... :) (That and the Red Bull)

The noise is amazing at 4000. Would love to see the motion pattern ofcourse, but so far it looks "aesthetically pleasing" dare I say as far as noise goes. I dont know whats cooler. The 4000 or the True Blood.

Jim, will the same be true if we upgrade our existing RED to Mysterium-X or only with Epic body? Lim

Impressive, most impressive :-)

I have some new cave shots that I am just DYING to shoot with this!!

Wait just a minute...

Is that M-X in an Epic or in Red One?

If it's Epic, does that mean that the ASIC issues are dealt with and Tattoo ships soon?

If so, that's cool because it means that my Epic-X is one step closer to coming home!

Also, if this is from an Epic, these are the first images released from that camera, as opposed to just the M-X in a modified Red One.

Sweet!

I shot these with an upgraded RED ONE...

Then how about a side-by-side with the old RED One and the upgraded RED One?
