hi - i am a first timer on this site so please forgive me if this question has already been asked/answered - i have a feature project starting in nigeria in the next few weeks and i will be using a Red MysteriumX supplied by a company in nigeria - have already used the Red One several times in kenya (where i live) with great success - my main question relates to the asa rating of the mysterium - am reading 800 asa a lot though some others recommend 500asa - the shoot is mainly day ext and int with a few night int scenes - any help would be greatly appreciated - i have a whole week of prep!! (inc recces etc) so not much time to test but will be aiming to do as many tests as i can though a heads up prior to all that would definitely help to point me in the right direction - second question relates to another project in the new year probably shooting on Red One which the director is talking about shooting in anamorphic which i agree with given the subject matter - my question is what is the process involved to shoot on the Red using anamorphic lenses from shoot (camera settings etc) through to workflow and post production??

pick any number between 320 and 800 and you'll do fine... if it were me, for day exteriors i'd probably shoot around 320 to 500, to cut out the need for so much nd filtering. for the nights, i'd probably shoot towards 800 or perhaps even a little higher, depending on the circumstances and testing.

personally, i wouldn't worry a whole lot about it. do your testing and figure out what you like. this book might help you if you feel like you need a resource: http://www.amazon.com/RED-Ultimate-Guide-Revolutionary-Camera/dp/0321617681

It's one of those days I wish reduser had a better search engine. This was discussed to death just last week. Check the cinematography thread. I think it was there.

thanks everybody - that gives me plenty to start with
