Mysterious Black Spot????

meanwhile the spot is gone

meanwhile the spot is gone

guys,

good news is the spot disappeared, but still, i´m not sure why...

assumed it was the chip:
i did black shading twice(!), rendered some tiffs and couldn´t figure out
any artefact anymore. also the picture on the lcd was clean.
coincidence? could be.

assumed it was dust/dirt,...behind the filterglas:
(first of all, lenses and mount were clean all the time!!!)
obviously, it´s gone away now. but then i´m sure i will see this piece of dirt
pretty soon again, since it hangs out somewhere at the camera-body.
however, weird that the spot looked so similar to >bscibelli<-jpeg.

contact me, if you like to get a jpeg.

cheers

misterious black spot is back in town

misterious black spot is back in town

Hi,

I´ve just read the old posts from last year...Unfortunately the black spot is back on one of my cameras. The error seems to be the same, only it´s shape and spatial position changed.
What we did: First we checked the QT proxies, we then in RC, we rendered Tiff, QT, we watched footage (QC at post-pro facility) on a LCD, CRT and on a digital projection. We did several black shadings, cleaned the sensor glass and so on... It was on each recording. But there was nothing that one could spot by eye directly on the glass/sensor. No dirt!

Any idea? Anything that all of us did not think of last year?-)

The attachment is a low res jpg. Obviously it´s hard to see the black dot but believe(!) me: it´s really there!-)
If you want a hi-res copy please ask me off list.

Cheers

daniel

btw: this time it´s camera #219, build 20.1.3

Please see this link:

it´s taken from another camera body and it´s mostly visible at f-stop 16 or 22. It stays there/keeps the shape, even when I change light levels only via the light sphere/light box. To me this is dust between the sensor and the OLPF/IR... Looks familiar after I did some shows with the SI2K last year:(
