Chances are very good that I'll be choosing the Zeiss Compact Zoom lenses for my new Weapon 8K CF camera. But I would love to see slightly wider-ranging lenses:
14-35 T2.9 Wide Zoom
24-85 T2.9 Normal Zoom
60-240 T2.9 Tele Zoom
The Weapon sensor is exactly 100 lp/mm, so the target resolution need not be much higher than that, say 120 lp/mm corner to corner, throughout the zoom range. T2.9 is plenty of aperture for a zoom lens, especially one rocking a 46mm image circle. That's essentially the same DOF at the same FOV for a T2.1 lens on an S35 (28.9mm) image circle. Of course various tradeoffs might suggest slightly faster or slightly slower lenses, but for me the general idea would be 7% to 20% more range on either end, not too much bigger nor too much more expensive. I would prefer that to similarly ranged lenses that merely offer a better T-stop at the expense of much more weight and cost. I.e., I would expect the following to price out beyond what I'd like to spend (on weight or cash):
15-45 T2.4 Wide Zoom
24-96 T2.4 Normal Zoom
70-210 T2.4 Tele Zoom
But I'd bet they'd be sweet!
