  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My thirst black day in 5 months. Drope frame, post stuck, and rebooting time.

Since I work with the red one, Its the first time I got so many problemes. Today was a festival of technical incidents. Hope some guy's here have a solution to the issues I met this sunday. Just tryed to send an incident ticket, I'm not shure it worked.
So, I was shooting an interview at 25FPS, 4K 2/1 RC36 in a raid drive with the ultimate build 16.
No movement (even not one pan), just a close up interview on a study tripod, and no trees around. Two microphones pluged in, and a full charge battery. Issues were (not in order, just remembered it started with a drop frame), droping frames, rebooting during shoot and post stuck. The camera never created proxies for all the the takes during the afternoon.
Lucky me! no client or producer around, just felt ambarrassed when I had to stop the interview and say "sorry we have to do that take again"and then "hang on, we have to wait the camera reboot".
Since I started filming with Mr Hulot (red 976) I was more get use to people taking photos of me and my groovy camera. Hé hé
Fortunately it was possible to creat proxies with red alert at the end of the day. And the sound was there.
I'm more than happy with my new tool and the results of my sunday shooting.
I trust the red team to find out the cause of the problem, not worring, just feeling a bit anxious.
Best regards

It is a mistery but the day after, everything went back to normal, wich make me thing maybe the connection of the batery on the plate wasn't accurate. Maybe one pin wasn't perfecly plug.
Yesterday on 60 takes I had Two post stuck wich froze the screen and reboot the camera (the r3d files are ok). Even if it isn't a big deal I'm Still curious to anderstand what could be the causes of the post stuck. Firmware Bug?
Of course the red team contact me after sending a ticket incident.
What a great customer service, I'm glad I bought my thirst camera with that compagnie. Those guy's have to deal with people all around the world, and they do it really well.
For those who still wondering what could happend if your camera fail, believe me the red team will not let you down. And you'll not feeling lonely too long.
Best regards
Brice
