  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi,

Just shooting a trailer that is going to be transferred to film, and we are using the 17-50 lens for the first time... and I'm just in love with this lens! Newer going home without it :)

I'll post some result here of the digital to film transfer also.

From just my eyes and non-technical test it's just great. Very sharp and smooth movement of rings. Not much flare, nice looking bokeh. Almost none breathing.

I would like to see it pointed @ a res-chart and zoom from wide to close to be able to judge breething and focus-hold myself...

Congratulations with your lens, though!

Forget the lens, what's that cool battery mount you've got working there?

The filterholder is a home made screw-in adapter for slot-in 138mm filters. The battery mount is just some velcro on camera and on a battery plate. I use a strap for safety also. Find this setup very fast and compact.

This lens really seems like the most tempting zoom out there. But some one posted some tests a couple weeks ago and it seemed like the breathing was actually really bad with a fair amount of image shift. Did you experience this when racking focus?
