Greetings,

I'm Joel Fleurent, a student who lives and breathes film. While many of my peers are out drinking and partying, I'm usually watching films or I'm logged into Reduser.net soaking up as much as I can from this amazing community. For that, I wish to thank you all.

I've been a vivid reader for a few years but never created an account until now. So why now? Because I'm shopping for a RED! And my dream of owning my own RED camera is actually within reach. It's funny, I remember two-three years ago, how I use to stare at pictures of Red One or maul over Scarlet rumors and at the time I never believed in the possibility of me affording, or ever owning my own RED camera...It's a very exciting time to be a filmmaker.

We'll that's a little about myself. And I hope to continue learning, and getting to know some of the great members of this community.

Thanks for reading,
-Jrent

Welcome Joel!

Welcome! I did the same thing. I made my account when I got serious about purchasing or at least renting a RED camera for jobs. I followed along for quite some time prior. Good luck on your potential purchase! Many people here have a vast knowledge of these cams and are glad to help answer questions. :)

Just don't forget that getting out and interacting with your friends, experiencing life and getting interested in a wide variety of subjects can serve to enhance your perspectives on life and improve your ability to create good stories and make good films. You have a ton of opportunity before you! Enjoy!

Welcome to the party Joel.

This one statement says a lot about you. Most young people follow the crowd. When I was younger, I certainly did. Started on the journey you are on at about the time RED was born. I learn new and useful information on this forum almost everyday. Reduser is very high on the list of important products produced because Jim Jannard wanted a better camera to use.

All good fortune to you.

Bienvenue Joel! Enjoy the ride. :)

Awesome! Same here, i'm a student cinematographer that has been following RED since its beginnings :D

I knew i had to register when my film professor/mentor asked for my suggestion on what would be the best investment for the film, and the company in the long run to replace his rapidly aging Canon HL-X1. He said if I would DP his film, what camera would I use? No brainer. RED is offering these amazing 4K/5K cinema-grade products at drastically lower prices compared to the competition. Prices that indie productions can afford. I have full faith in RED's promise to deliver and believe that our Scarlet order placed in November will be delivered before the shoot in the late Summer. Crossing my fingers!

It's exciting to see the waves RED is making through the industry, especially with the release of Scarlet, and that's why i've finally registered and jumped into the community. The more of us online talking about RED products the better!
