This is my first R1MX test shot at available light and high ISO.

It's a studio/balcony shot with charts, bottles and several candles.

The test is very simple and has a minimal style reduction of anything fancy to avoid a sort of spectacular effect.

The lens was Canon 50mm FD L Aspherical f1/1.2 @ f/2.0.

So for all example it was no need to go faster than f/2.0.

Absolutely fantastic to finally have this sort of sensor sensitivity and also DR.

Just with a simple upgrade of the existing cam.

Gorgeous.

Have a look at the following 1k snapshots below:

Everything was shot with AWB in camera and without using WB in REDCINE-X.

Could be that issue or...

But I did it now WB in REDCINE-X for that particular shot @1600ISO and it looks better now.

Then I exchanged this photo also at above example.

If you look at the wine bottle with the text that says "red" in white, it looks like the images don't get progressively brighter like you would expect. In fact, the 1000 ISO image looks dimmer than the 800, and the 1600 looks dimmer than the 1280. Why is that?

At the end WB should match for all shots just in case if you have there different ISO or in general whenever the lighting takes change.

This is a kind of rule no.1 on work with RAW files for motion pictures.

I don't know how is going with ARRI RAW, Phantom RAW, etc,... but that is a rule with REDCODE RAW files.

It kind of looks like the actual candle output on that ISO 1000 image is a bit lower, judging from the height of the flames.

It was windy and sometimes the candles took the light down according to that weather conditions.

Hi Sanjin:

Always love your tests. How far can you move the candles away from the subject and still get a usable image? Could you try moving the candles towards the camera and away from the subjects in 1 foot increments?

Thanks guys,

it was one of my quick and dirty tests as usual.

Next time the test with candles I'll do it indoor.

But a real next test following to this will be again outdoor but on a street with urban vapor and car lights, etc...all important to test with a high-speed lenses involved.

Not to highjack this thread, but we too just received our Cineslider from Kessler, and it is a really well built little unit. Great bang for the buck!
