  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My first EPIC Fashion Shoot " CARLY"

Hey Ketch, I posted this question on your M thread ... but didn't see much info on the lighting. I'd love to know if/what external lights were used ... plus if there any light-shaping tools, diffusers, reflectors, etc. Thanks!

Hi Anthony,

all that we used given the confined space and the choice of soft day light, were 4 Kinos, 2x 4' banks and 2x 2' banks. See images below... ;)

*Thanks Albert... ;)

Stunning, stylized imagery coupled with sublime music = you're doin' it right Ketch!!! Keep up the visionary work!!!

Jesus! I opened the video on a packed train in London and people we're looking over like I was watching Porn.
She is stunning.
I hope you went for drinks after the shoot

wow i'm in love

Great work Ketch. Congrats to you and your team... the color is fantastic!

Hope everything is going well in Italy...take care of your health!

He he, Thanks guys, lots more coming form Italy, after shooting EPIC in portrait style I am definitely dropping any and all DSLRs... ;)

Looks incredible Ketch. Do you mind me asking what tripod or setup you are using to allow you to use your Epic in "portrait style"
Thanks in advance
Taj

Ketch, this is really wicked!
Especially the first shot. I expected slideshow of frozen in time EPIC photos.
I almost drop of my chair when she blinked, didn’t expect it.
I think you started new branch of photography.

I will call it “MOVING STILLS”
As opposed to frozen in time RED photos that we were enjoying since couple of years now.

Imagine you are in the gallery and you see a beautifully framed paintings (images).
Some paintings covered with glossy finish some on canvas.
You are coming closer to one of the paintings and you see canvas and oil paint like surface.
You stepped back looking on this portrait of beautiful woman and after staring at the picture for several second you see her blink!
It will freak me out.

I just have to figure out how to nicely frame high-res LCD display and cover it with thin crystal transparent film that has canvas like impression from outside.
New LED-LCD display with coming from above highlighted vignetting that is burned in to the shot as a special effect will be perfectly pretending the lit from above paiting.

I think I also have to process the image to get oil paint like texture illusion right in to the final image.

I know what I will be doing this weekend........................
Have to hang few like this in my house:-)

Ketch, beautiful work man, I love it!

Thanks Andrew,

that was exactly the idea, in a future soon to be, I envision us walking by a magazine stand, and see a beautiful girl on the cover, then suddenly She moves.... BAM!!!

It is still a bit tedious work to control the camera when not in a perfect set up, but as soon as we receive our first R90,
then look out for a load of incredible Italian High Fashion in EPIC Portrait style... ;)

I want to be reincarnated as the sensor in Ketch's Epic.....

Well you posted this?
What is this is it a promo a student film?
This looks like one step from porn.
I want to see what the Epic can do but the quality of the production is poor (no contrast) are you a student camera man trying to make a demo.

??

A student? I wish... ;)

Not everything is about contrast, this piece was Edited/Colored by Jake Blackstone and He chose the effect of a dream like sequence with lighting flashes playing with the movement of the Model/Actress.

He he, One step from Porn? I guess you never heard of those sexy things called Lingerie, that are used in High Fashion... ;)

cliff, please dont insult people.
if you want to see different types of set ups, feel free to rent an Epic M and do it yourself.
