  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I recently shot a short both project and recording rate at 23.976 fps with 180 degree shutter speed.

I watched the raw clips on red cine x, fcp, and premiere and they all played similar where it almost looks like stop motion animation with no motion blur.

Currently uploading a r3d file but it's 4gb. Is there a better way to share this file?

You can trim the r3d to a few seconds using RCX then upload a smaller file.

What kind of display are you using? How is it setup and calibrated? Is it possible you have some kind of motion-compensation turned on?

If there's a shutter problem we'll see it even if it's in HD on YouTube or Vimeo. Post that and let's take a look.

I'm gonna guess that your computer system may be too slow to play .r3d files in real-time. First try changing the playback resolution to 1/4 or 1/8. If that still doesn't work, then try transcoding the files to 2K/HD Prores. That should solve the problem.
