I just posted all of the details and specifics regarding the various testing that I completed last week using the Red One with both the M & MX sensors on my blog. The complete write up can be found here:

http://www.ryanewalters.com/Blog/files/The_Clash_of_the_Titans.html

The tests I completed were as follows:
- Low Light in Tungsten
- Exposure Tests (Over / Under)
- Green Screen
- Rolling Shutter

Enjoy- hopefully this is helpful, even though it looks like I just got an email saying that a new beta build just came out. :)

Here are a couple of charts from the test:

I am sorry you posted this so close to the new firmware. RED makes even camera testing obsolete some times! :-)

Will you redo some of the tests? Your methodology looks great and it would be interesting to see the new color calibration. What you already produced could be used for comparison.

Wow! That difference was astounding, you can push this sensor so far it's amazing.

Yeah- no kidding, it feel like there is no noise floor you can push the image so much. I could never push the M footage that far.

Yeah, I chuckled to myself when I saw the email. I'll be doing the tests again, hopefully in the near future.

Thanks Ryan,

I would say every test is a bit different result

and also because of that every test can count.

Take it or leave it, anyway its up to you

at the end it's about to make a choice.

But altogether is a good overview because it can give

you a lot of diverse approaches with many different results.

But if you know what you want and you know how can achieve many of them

it can be really helpful.

Thanks.... Brilliant

You will see a difference with the newest M-X build...

Jim

I'm glad that the new build has fixed the calibration issues, and I'm looking forward to putting it through the ringer. Now it is just a matter of getting ahold of another camera with the MX sensor, as all of the ones in my area are out on rent ...

Our M-X should be back next week Ryan, so we can do the test again at our place

I look forward to it. Thanks again Tim! :)
