  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MX problems with vertical lines/pans

@gunleik: i think it would not be the same as 25fps with 1/100 sec Shutter,
because the difference between each frame would be to a lesser extent.
But if you then increase the speed of movement of the actors it wouldn't
change the amount of strobing.

Filming with 50 fps and playing back with 50 fps would help, but it would look
more like video because the motion is more fluid and each frame is sharper
(due to 1/100 sec shutter).

More motionblur is indeed a solution :)

Fun thought. (no irony here)

I might try -:)

So maybe I'm getting this wrong...when I shoot at 50 and I want to playback in real time I will be worse off than when I started because the editing software will just drop every second frame. Is there not a way in FCP or After Effects or Flame to render out a shot that was shot at 50 into real time so that I can keep all the frames - and stop the strobing?

Hi Guys
OK so finally I have an answer to my own question.
I have just spoken to the top vfx supervisor in my country who is on set with me at the moment.
You shoot at 50 fps.
You then blend the frames in flame and play back at 25 in real time.No slow mo effect.simple.No strobe problem.
