keeps us motivated but sometimes money is just a way of keeping count.....

Now I suspect (obvious!!) Jim is above a lot of that.
He's got there, he's good at what he does, he's making this camera for lord knows what reasons..all the good ones I bet.
but hey....he ain't being greedy with his camera, so why should we!!!

Jarred, I just want you and everybody else to know that I had no intention of starting a political conversation on this board.

The original comment that I made (which has since triggered a dialogue that's escalated way out of control) was motivated by nothing more than a hopeful desire to obtain a RED One in time to shoot a film I'm working on... and at the same price as everybody else (in Australia, we'd call that a "fair go"). As it is, despite the camera being exceptional value, I'm not wealthy and would virtually have to mortgage my soul just to be able to afford one at the original price (along with all the other pieces of equipment that would also be needed to complete a working kit), let alone after an online action.

Like many other enthusiasts way down here on the other side of the world, I can't make it to NAB in April to join the long line of lookers and potential buyers who will be pounding down the doors when the next batch of orders is going to be taken.

I guess that means I'm out of the ball game for some time to come.

its all good Brainstorm... i'm not offended at all. I just hate when people use the Forum for political statements and your comments about free speech and right to speak your mind crossed over that way.. intended or not.
