Hey, guys. This is a creative project I spent the past 16 months putting together in between jobs. We shot it with Ultras and Masters for the present day scenes and the Panasonic LG7200 Anamorphic Adapter with Canon L glass for the past scenes (in attempts of giving a softer, etherial / warmer more forgiving look). I hope the story isn't too confusing, I think with repeat viewings it becomes clearer and you may notice some more hidden stuff ;)

All feedback welcome! Thanks so much...

Overall, the video is very nicely done...much better than some of the others I've seen posted here. But it looks to me like the colorist made a mistake that shows up three times between 3:15 and 3:20: the desaturated highlight on the woman's face. I'm OK with things burning out as white, but not gray. Maybe cause by an incomplete node structure in Resolve?

Yeah I noticed this too originally but figured that was the best we could do with the file given that the original shot was easily our least pretty one. We were battling sunlight and time constraints with the location. I wish we could have made that shot better, good eye. I should have bugged my colorist about this one more, damn.

think it looks gorgeous. Did you guys shoot 6K?

Thanks, Nick! Yeah it was all 6k, we covered the sensor fine with the lenses by never going beneath a 21 a believe on the Arri sets and beneath 24mm with the Panasonic anamorphic adapter. I've always respected your posts on here, very glad to hear your approval :)

Beautiful. Poignant. Respectful. Perfect cast. What faces. And a great melody.
Eloquently crafted story and imagery.
Excuse me while i hit PLAY, again.

Thanks so much, James. The cast is actually all just friends and family, can you believe it? I rally lucked out, they were all so great and supportive throughout it all.

I really appreciate the love, man. You couldn't have written anything kinder, really.

Wow. Frank. Simply an amazing piece of work.

As much as this is a forum for Red Enthusiasts and we mostly just go on about camera related stuff, I must simply remind everyone that story is king. It comes first, before everything else, and boy, what a story you have successfully told through moving images.

I take my hat off to you sir. A job well done, you had me engaged, when originally I was simply watching the video to judge the camera and lens choices, I simply forgot about that and was drawn in by the story. Well done.

By the by, the visuals are amazing.

This is probably the most encouraging response to any of my work that I've ever gotten. I can't tell you how much these words mean to me and the whole crew (I showed this post to all of them). Thank you from all of us, so very kind of you man :)
