Music Video - Recky - "Under Kanoa Sky"

[Shawn Booth]

The song is called "Under Kanoa Sky" - takes place in Kanoa Park which is in Kalihi. Kalihi "could be likened to South Central LA" to give you a reference.

We went after a raw look on this one - no tangible lights, missed exposure, and just overall disregarded most principles. The artist loves it, the producer does as well.
I'm proud of it, hope you enjoy it. (Stills from the video below. EDIT: Stills looked washed out on my laptop... But not on desktop or B. monitor or TV... Any thoughts?)

Shot: Build 16 (3.2.5), 2K 2:1, 23.98 - 72 fps, RC28, to 8GB CF, RED 18-50 & 50-150, ND3, late afternoon under a huge tree, REDCINE onelight/transcode to UC10bit, FCS>Color>FCS>After Effects, Compressor. (Latest RED software.) I'm not much of a colorist, I tried my hand at it though. Long way to go.

Post, on top of loose focus.

Yeah that place you shot in looked like east LA. Looked nice man, really captured the life in that place.

Thanks guys

Shawn, great, great, great. Love the song, love the style you brought to it. Really felt the connection there with the generations. Everything felt real, nice peak into the lives of that area.

Keep up the good work!
