Music Video Look Test: Using 70s Nikkor lenses, Lomo Ana, and Lens Baby 3G

I'm prepping for a video and checking the look I get out of these different lenses

I think I put this in the wrong place yesterday

We fashioned a small grid of lights after comparing many different types of lamps

I think the test was successful and we will be constructing a 4 part rig that will hold 36 lights over a 4' x 16' mini wall of lights

Any thoughts or recommendations anyone might have are welcome

This is totally subjective - but since the song sounds "slickly" produced I didn't really like seeing the cords hanging off cheap looking lights in the background. I'd probably try to art dept those up somehow and/or move the band further away so they are never in focus except in the superwide.

As far as the Nikon and Lens babies go - have fun. A lot of lenses look great on RED.

The idea is definately to machine a rig that cleans up the aestetic

For the test purposes it's just c-stands and mounts

With a large studio and a lot more lights and a cleaned up rig for the lights I am thinking I will have a lot more control

So I definately agree with you

There are two shutter settings on RED. "Fixed" and "Relative". One of them makes the footage look like bad video at higher frames per second. I can't remember which one, but it looks like that's the one you used. You might want to try the other setting.

Is that why my shutter was only 1/120?
