I bought my RED One MX used from when the price drop hit and have learned to use it myself. I've never taken any schooling and wanted to know if you guys could critique this video, I know there are 2 issues with focus pulling but I am working with non-union camera men but overall what do you think regardless of content.

Personal opinions:

I like a lot of the framing, there are some lip sync issues on the girl that are distracting and look fixable.

Not a huge fan of the desat/log look to the grade-although for the huy rapping it works ok if you really like it.

The vid is not really either enough performance, or a clear enough narrative for my tastes. I would have preferred for the narrative to be clearer.

Hard to tell if these are your choices or simply lack of experience (like the grade-some people love the log desat look, but to me I would always want the grade to seem a bit more purposeful.

The guys prrformance is pretty good, just wish he had more to do.

Like the track.

For reference of my personal tastes, I think The Pretender for the Foo Fighters is one pf the best music videos ever made, because it is an incredibly shot performance video that incorporates spectacle and narrative.

Thank you, yeah it's actually not been desaturated its' simply some redhead lighting and some levels tweaking. It was graded from redlogfilm so maybe that explains it but overall I wanted it to feel like the lyrics.

Thanks I really work on the framing and focus and it's hard sometimes not having the union but I have faith in my guys and we're all getting better.

Thanks again.
