Hey gang, here's a campaign I wrote, directed and produced for H2 last winter. Our first big shoot on Epic MX.

We used RP Modded Contax Primes and an RP Modded Sigma 18-35 (with HBM 1/4 to match Contax).

Scarlet MX also used as B-Cam.

I oversaw all post back at History, for 6 weeks.

Jake Blackstone graded our dailies (as always).

Campaign is classic format - image spots, and a bunch of characters.

great job Nick - looks beautiful and is really good profile pieces!!!!!

Nick, I'm a bit shocked, do you not realize that unless you shoot it on a Dragon sensor your project will be a failure? I mean look at the colors, the saturation, dynamic range, etc.

Maybe next time you'll learn. ;-)

Thanks Ed! Coming from you means a lot! You've been killing it recently!!

Haha, you're too kind Mark. MX is an amazing camera, no doubt. Also helps to have Jake grade our dailies. There was a ton of mixed lighting inside the factory that he smoothed out (as always).

Thanks again for the kind words. Really appreciate it.

I really like that you have a whole little story per person, and only in 30 seconds. I keep watching these trying to figure how you pulled the story/clips together without it seeming rushed.

Thanks Patrick! Part of it is the setup - we use the same intro line from Roger, knowing that would cue the character bites pretty well. Then during the interviews, it's important to get them to open up. Not just talk about the show, but about each other - in a friendly, playful kind of way. Adds a lot of depth.

An old mentor of mine used to say "you gotta add some sizzle to your steak!"

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch these.

Also, needs be said...my editor Jeff did an amazing job with these. And our client at H2 was relentless at getting as much CHARACTER out of spots as possible. When you have that many people pushing for excellence, it's makes a huge difference...
