Very nice indeed Matt!!
And yeah, leave to the powers at Sony, to just trow in a bunch of FREE cameras to push them forward ahed of much more advanced and way better cameras...
They could give them away to me as well, but I would still PAY... Oh... Wait... I did Pay... So that I can use my own RED EPIC "D R A G O N" thanks...![]()
Thanks Ketch.
Free camera's is one thing, but all the support gear for the live production is another. Sony was the easier/cheaper option plus they have a 4K feed direct from camera to record and view. This workflow made things very simple and something live guys were used to working with. Record the 4K output direct to hard drives as well as a 1080p version for editing. Link back to 4K for color and finishing. Sony also provided cameras for the tour documentary so it was no surprise that they would ask to sponsor the concert film.
I can say I had Matt and the band convinced on using Epics aka. "Hobbit Cams" until Sony offered to sponsor the shoot with a boat load of free gear.
