  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Muppets shot on RED...

"- Dad, what's a Muppet?
- Well, it's not quite a mop, not quite a puppet, but man...
(laughs, then pauses)
- So, to answer you question, I don't know."

... and yeah, cool stuff. Soon we'll be hearing what's not shot on RED :001_smile:

another notch on the board for RED, this should be a fun one! look forward to it

Waldorf: This show reminds me of film stock.
Statler: This show had nothing to do with film stock!
Waldorf: ...and I want to have nothing to do with this show!!!

Finally actors who's hairy details well deserve a 4K shooting :)

Big news for me, I didn't even know a new muppets movie is going to come!

I ran some screen tests on this over at Disney right before they started rolling. They were finding out that different types of makeup and skin types acted differently on the RED MX. It was a bit of a problem at first but they were really happy with what they were seeing after they figured out that little problem. The main thing was they could totally see where the makeup was applied on their actress. Once they changed it up everything was good. The people I talked to there were really happy to be shooting on RED and were hoping to shoot on Epic. Looks like they got their wish.

the more resolution, the perfect the artwork must be, be it the props or the make up ....

I was raised on muppets!!! This is so cool to hear! :)

Disney & Jim

Disney & Jim

Wonderful! A new muppets film! But I think there is a problem that I believe should be brought to everyone's concern. First of all, everybody knows that the new disney is more of a commercial corporation than a family movie studio. Well, as should EVERYONE know, the Muppets were created by Jim Henson, right? Here's the original Muppets' logo:

Note Jim Henson's name. Now, in 2004 Walt Disney Company bought the Muppets. Look at this logo NOW:

Notice anything different? Besides completely altering the logo in something "modern", do you notice anything on top of the "THE"? YES! THERE'S NO REFERENCE TO JIM HENSON! They had no right. Besides, when does Disney purchase the Muppets? In 2004! AFTER HE'S DEAD! They actually tried before, I quote "After earlier unsuccessful attempts, the Walt Disney Company bought the Muppets in 2004". Does anybody know if that when they say "after earlier unsuccessful attempts" do they refer to any attempts to purchase the Muppets when Jim was alive? Because that would be really unfair. They try when he's alive and then when he's gone!

Jim was excited about moving to Disney before his death. The Muppet 3D film that plays at the Disney parks was shot and completed with Jim. I think it was Disney that backed out of deal when Jim died. Can't blame them, Jim was creative force behind the Muppets and their biggest asset. So it was Jim and his passion that Disney wanted at the time. So, Disney backed out, another company stepped in and bought the company and had control for many years. I'm sure that's when Disney had issues with the purchase. The Henson family, regained control of the company, I think for a few years, and rebuilt the brand name before Disney bought them. Going to Disney was a positive step for the Muppets, I think Jim Henson would still approve. That's just my take on the Muppet/Disney History.

I just read an excellent book called Street Kids, which is the complete history of Sesame Street and covers this in depth. Disney where in negotiations before Henson died, Henson was for it but wanted all the Sesame Street Muppets out of the deal, Disney at the time kept pushing for them and it became very acrimonious.

Having the Muppets at Disney I think is fine, because it's the Muppets that Henson was happy to be Disney controlled - while Sesame Streets Muppets ended up with CTW where they belonged.
