Multiple R3D-Files with Pre-Record-Function

I used the Pre-Record-function with 10 seconds pre-roll. Now when I look in the data-folder there always 7 R3D-files (including the proxies of course) instead of one. The first 5-files have 65,1 MB, the sixt and seven varifies depending on the lenght of the clip.
Red-Alert sometimes crashes trying to open these files. Does anyone have the same experiences?
