hey,

i am going over my footage from a shoot. in my folders are multiple R3D files with varying files sizes. they are all in the same folder. one might be 600MB while the other is 1.3 gigs. they appear when opened in red alert to be the same footage. one odd thing is a particular file, over a gig, loads in red alert is only about 15 seconds. how can a 15 second clip be over a gig?

i'm a little confused by the folders and files. i seem to be able to work with everything without issue, but want to make sure i am not somehow missing footage by opening things up the wrong way.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

take care,

chris

only open the R3D with a 1 next to it. Redalert will link to the others in the folder. If it is one clip then Red writes long takes as multiple red files to get over the 2GB file limit of FAT32. It is a standard way of doing things on FAT32 and no way around it ;)

If the files are in one folder (from camera) then they are one clip

good luck
scott
