Hi All

Brand new here recently upgraded from the pmw-f3 to the epic. Just doing some first shoots and tests. I appear to be getting multiple files in the same folder of the same content when recording. It seems to be draining battery too quick also. Any ideas?

Thanks

Matt

Thanks for the responses.

I now see that it is split at 4GB I didnt notice as for some reason it doesnt matter which file you import to premiere it always starts at the start of the first frame. Used to the sony files starting half way through when onto second file. Is that how its supposed to work?

Redvolt sml in side handle. I will have to do a proper test to give you an idea on how long it takes to drain. We do handheld stuff. It was my other guy doing the shoot when he complained about battery.

Thanks

I believe some Redusers have said the Redvolt does drain some, even when the camera is off. If Redvolt life is critical, leave it out of the body/sidehandle if you're not using the camera for a while eg overnight, over lunch break.

A single clip is split into multiple 4GB file chunks when the recording exceeds 4GB on the Epic/Scarlet cameras. Any Red R3D aware program or NLE will recognise the individual files as part of a larger clip, and automatically load the whole clip. Do not delete any of the R3D files as you will be deleting partial chunks of the whole file.
