This is a spec project, not officially associated with USA Network or the producers of Mr. Robot.

I created a character for myself, wrote my dialogue, filmed myself in front of a green screen and used visual effects to edit myself into scenes from Mr. Robot, season 1, while changing the context of the conversations to create a new story.

Everything was done by me, in my studio. I was actually talking to a drawing of a face, taped to my wall, to give me an accurate eyeline.
It took me 2 months to complete from the time I started writing to the time I finished editing... mostly because of my side-job as a personal trainer taking up my time.

Are you concerned at all that the producers of the original material might have an issue with this?

Nope. At least I'll know they watched it. I'm just trying to get my character on the show.
They can flag it and remove it if they want. And if that's the case, they didn't want me anyway, so it's all good.

Very creative ………gonna upset some but gonna get attention IMO.

I'm curious how your obtained/recorded the shows footage.

Dude, that was pretty damn good!!

Ha! Lots of good work there.

Bold tactic - good luck

Great job on those eye lines.
Thanks. Yeah, so important. Even if the lighting, focus, acting were good, a bad eye line would ruin the whole scene. So many little things went into trying to make it look seamless (I'm sure you know this, but I'm just thinking).

Thanks. It would impress me if I was calling the shots!

Also, I need to point out that chroma keying with Resolve 12's 3D Keyer is very simple and powerful. I have done 2 other projects like this using Premiere CC's Ultra Key and AE's Key Light and I prefer Resolve waaaay more. My studio is small, so due to shadows, the green screen was lit very unevenly.

Very well done. The time and effort and your attention to detail will serve you very well in your own projects. You should create your own web series. These days the web actually pays. Mr Robot itself was originally created as a very low budget independent pilot.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm actually working a script for a superhero web series. I put it to the side to work on this, but now that it's finished, I can get back to it.

Glad!
