Moving to Chicago...

[dean merrill]

Hello,
I am planning on moving to Chicago this Fall, and wanted to reach out to connect with some REDusers out there. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the scene, and possibly were to start tracking down cinematography work.
Thanks!
~Dean

Hey Dean .. I am also making a move to Chicago but later this spring. Just waiting on my permit. Will probably split my time between Toronto and Chicago. I had the same thoughts of reaching out to Redusers myself. Happy to stay in touch.

[Jim Hoffman]

Well welcome to our fine city! If you want to PM with some specific question please feel free to do so. There are some cool cats here who I'm sure you could also reach out to.

[Andy Jarosz]

Hey Dean and Ted!

As with Jim, feel free to PM me with any questions. We have a pretty good film scene, you'll like it here!

[Ted Parkes]

Thanks guys.. I'l be in touch when I know when I am in the city next.. Probably around Easter for the weekend and a few extra days to check and explore the city.

[Matthew Mann]

Welcome! I'm fairly new to the windy city myself; moved here a year ago. There's a great enthusiastic film crowd out here, and it's a gorgeous city. I love it!

Hi Dean (et all),

We are also Chicago Scarlet users looking to connect with other users and film makers for the purposes of building community and support.

I started a thread here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?75264-CHICAGO-Scarlet-users-or-User-Group to put together a meet up but haven't gotten any bites yet

Are you or any others from the Chi up for meeting?

Warm Regards,

Christopher

[Randall Brown]

Just emailed you PC..

[PC Greene]

Great! I'll be right back to you Randall!

Thanks everyone for the replies! The forum didn't notify me of any replies so I apologize for the delay. I'll be visiting in a few months, hope to meet you all, and will be sending messages out to you today.
Thanks again! ~Dean

Looks like I'll be visiting Chicago for a few days on July 24th, and would love to meet up with people from the area. I have plans to meet PC Greene, hope to meet a few others!
Be well!

Hello all,

We've been a little quiet for a few months leading us to the conclusion that RED Owner / Operators are simply too busy for a regular monthly meeting LOL. That said, we are switching to Quarterly schedule which we hope will make our Meet Ups that much more of an "occasion" and something to look forward to as our small but loyal membership is a group of some of the finest people (and artists) I've had the pleasure of knowing!

Generally, we will meet on the first Thursday of every quarter. That said, we have scheduled the 2013 Q3 meeting for this June 6th.

Please email christopher at paul christopher greene dot com for details.

We have a fantastic time sharing information, discussing new gear, learning new practices, helping each other out, and of course playing with our hardware and software.

Any and all RED owners are welcome...please feel free to pass this information on...hope to see you at the next meet up.

Thanks,

P.C. Greene

Just a reminder that we are having a meet up this Thursday at 7PM.

Please email christopher at paul christopher greene dot com for details.

Can't wait to see you there...
