Mounting a VCT-14 Adapter to an Arri Dovetail -- Is this possible?...

Does anyone know of a way to mount a VCT-14 Adapter to an Arri Dovetail, so that you have the ability to adjust the counterbalance of the VCT-14 Adapter on the Dovetail? The only way I can think of, is to mount some sort of Dovetail Adapter to the underside of the VCT-14.

The reason I ask, is because it would be great to have a rig that is already mounted to its own shoulder pad -- so one that doesn't need to be removed every time you need to mount the rig to a tripod -- but can also be counterbalanced as you would with a Bridgeplate on a Dovetail.

You can't tell from the pictures, but the plate that the camera sits on slides forward and backward on the rig so you can balance it on your shoulder better. And the whole thing docks with a VCT plate. So the outcome is that you can lock into a VCT plate and still have room to adjust for balance.
