Hey guys,

we just received the Canon Ti Motion Mount for our Weapon Helium 8K, but it simply won't be recognised by the camera. We already did a rediscover, but still no luck.
Any help? Greatly appreciated!

Best,
Chris

Hi Christoph,

Dont know if it would help but try wiping the lens mount connectors and also wiping the connectors on your camera itself.

I did that with my normal EF mount initially and it helped!

When was the last time you used it on your camera ? I didn't use mine for a long time and then when I did realize that it had to be sent in to have the firmware updated in the mount itself.
What was the last camera or firmware that I did work on ?

I bought a new one from RED - never used it before.

In respect to ND characteristics only, does the motion mount have any impact on optical quality?
Is it 100% seamless? At 8k?

No optical effect that we've seen. At least in Global Shutter mode. It's perfectly clean.

Watching this thread closely. I'm having the same issues with my Motion Mount on Epic-W. It works fine on DSMC1 cameras though.

Now I'm going downstairs to the workshop and putting mine on and double checking with the new firmware.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this but when I have a prime on my camera with the motion mount Cannon motion lens wide open as I stop down past six stops on the MM to closing in on eight stops I start to notice a little different look in the softness of the broken . Has anyone else ever notice that
