Motion Mount for VV

Is there any option for Motion Mount with VV sensor? I also saw the new ND filters for the KipperTie but I never see if its compatible with VV.

Good question in regards to the Motion Mount and VV coverage and I could never get a solid answer in regards to this. I surmise the Motion Mount coverage on VV sensors was marginal so it would work with some lenses and not others but I never saw any tests or specific reports on performance nor could I get an answer from Red.

Due to this I went with the Kippertie system that has the advantage of having a clear ND position but the disadvantage of no control over the nature of the shutter. But the Kippertie with the VV sensor is also problematic. Vignetting is very much on the edge and the extent of the vignetting is dependant on your choice of lens and aspect ratio. It can vary from no vignetting to strong. I have a link to my test results with Canon CN-E primes and some EF Zooms in this post. post #211
Unfortunately I have not seen any other posts from people using Revolva and Monstro and their results from different brand lenses. In my case I generally shoot 8KHD and in most cases the vignette is mild enough for me to accept as the operational advantage of the Revolva is just so sweet.

My S35 MM covers the full 8K VV Monstro strangely enough even though it is much smaller. I tested it with the celeres And the LOMO anamorphics. I not sure why it works , but it does.

No vignette on FF? or Back-focus issues? Sounds like great news I guess!!!!

Did not check backfocus as such but traveled the world for an Air China int commercial and shot over 3hrs of material 8K 6:5 ana and had nu issues with focus or vignettes.

Thats good news for the Motion Mount and Monstro on the Celeres from Jen and not so good news from Luigi on the wider Sigmas. With any anamorphic lens it would be surprising indeed to see any vignette as you would be shooting the 6:5 format therefore cropping the sides of the sensor where any vignette would show first.

the ends left and right remain darker, you always have to go down in resolution.
I've never tried Revolva.

Not really since the motion mount is allmost equally smaller all around, but you would not see it in the side on ana of cause.

I will test with other FF lenses tomorrow.

I wonder why it does not work on the Sigmas and if they are designed differently, same as I wonder why it works on the other FF lenses

did you read the whole thread? I have used MM on Monstro for YEARS without issue.
