  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I am shooting with my Epic over the course of the next two weeks on a narrative peice.

My question is, what is the newest firmware for the epic (not Beta), but the most up to date / reliable.

It has been several months since I have updated the firmware (had no real need to, things have been working fine)
But I figure with this show, updating to the recent firmware would be helpful.

Let me know your thoughts, thank you in advance.

i think he wants to know whats most stable for the user base though i was assume...cuz the newest isn't always the most stable when things first come out whether its red, apple, avid, fcpx, hell even arri put out a bum firmware recently! i don't know the answer but i'd look into it and choose whats most stable, not whats necessarily the newest always..

oh and always try to have several versions of firmwares/softwares...thats my new thing i focus on, just getting many versions available to me, so i can always hop around whether its major or minor releases...just good practice to horde such things i personally feel

Yes, I'm aware of that, which is why I referred him to the current Release version of the firmware, certified by RED as the most stable firmware and definitely not the newest (that is the Beta firmware).

okay cool, didn't know the newest release build was the most stable...i usually hang back somewhat these days to hear about reports first with all my apps/firmware generally speaking. sounds sweet then
