Just wondering what is most number of filters you used at one time
and what filters were they..? many people often go over 2..?

I'm sure I must have stacked 4 for some reason, just can't think of one... generally it would happen on an exterior shot where you needed or wanted both a Pola and an ND, and were using diffusion... which would be three filters, so I guess the fourth might happen if you were using a warming filter or a grad filter on top of everything else. But generally I have a rule to keep things to 3 filters max if I can, and fewer whenever possible.

I use many filters to create interesting combo effects (not all the time.... I do agree with David's "no more than 3 rule" most of the time.) if you combine certain filters together you can get very cool results. This more for music video/fashion than standard narrative.

Good to know that "3" is kind of the max...and "4" is pushing it. I rarely use more than 2, but nice to hear some guidelines! Thanks Mr.Mullen!

ND and Pola are two off the top that I tend to use for most exteriors (hot mirror too?). Then there could be a look filter (colour) and a diffusion/soft/lowcon filter. But to be honest, I don't know when I've actually done four (but that could be because I can't think of a mattebox I've used with four trays and I can't remember the last time I used the bellows.)
