  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Most Important news from Jim I would love on the 30th is PRICE OF SCARLET and DATES.

I know a ton of people on this board get caught up in technical features and yada yada but the most important thing to me for right now is the CORE price of Scarlet and its accessories and when it definitely comes out on the market.
A ton of people on here love to speculate and dream up ways your going to use it or whats the best workflow, tripod, shoulder rig or lenses to use.
Its really simple on Nov 30th..... Just tell us PRICE and DATES and rest will all fall in place.

PRICE and DATES are subject to change.

Count on it.

We will probably see prices, but don't count on firm dates. As the thread on the ASIC problems shows, there is still significant development and testing to do before release with many potential unkowns to deal with yet.

Ok Im fine if the dates are approximate but it would really be nice to see some test footage which if they did would quiet a lot of people on this board and hold them over till the next update.
Most of all I just really want to know what Im going to be spending on the core amount of the camera to make it work.

I commend your use of capitalization; it indicates SHOUTING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS, which is precisely the feeling that you need to convey when making demands.

That's odd. Not a demand this time? I suggest sticking with shouting and commands for consistency. For example:

Just give us PRICE and DATES and TEST FOOTAGE.

Also feel free to add in any of your other demands like so:

Just give us PRICE, DATES, TEST FOOTAGE, and a PONY.

After letting them know what the ransom is, it's also a good idea to follow up with a threat, so they take you seriously:

Just give us PRICE, DATES, TEST FOOTAGE, and a PONY. Or else the girl gets it.

THATS A GREAT IDEA!!! Now ... hmm where do I get a girl and a pony?
Im hoping it wont come to this and they will just answer my ?s CAPS or no caps.

they want us to have them in hand by March/April I'm thinking
but we will likely get a price and of course specs on the 30th

"it's all happening"

One year ago we had estimated prices and dates..... If they announce a new set of estimated prices and dates, it still doesn't help much.

This is not a dig at RED.... just stating their much known mantra of "subject to changes".

The only thing I want to see is a "BUY NOW" button or even a "PRE-ORDER NOW" button!

And it seems Ted was operating off old info too. Or at least that was the comment from Jarred and others. Either way, we'll know more in about 6 days.
