These are quite rare, and almost never come up for sale. Reluctantly selling to fund purchase of a Helium or Gemini.

This is indisputably THE IDEAL DOCUMENTARY LENS, allowing a simply incredible parfocal 17x(!!!!) zoom range, and are incredibly small at a mere 7.5 INCHES IN LENGTH, and only 4lbs...simply amazing. Fantastic choice for any high-frame-rate work on RED (Should cover 3.5-4k Helium, 2.5k Dragon, and 3k on Komodo and Blackmagic pocket4k/6k). The lens and its coatings control flare amazingly well. Again...there is no better documentary lens. This is the pinnacle.

This is the third and final, most advanced generation of Canon's much-revered Super16 zooms. There are simply no other S16 lenses that match them in usability and performance. The third gen, in addition to the most advanced optics, also uses modern mechanics/housing much better than the previous generation Canon zooms.

My is just beautiful, with the body looking like it only just left the factory yesterday.

I'm including a 95mm 4x5.65 Wooden Camera ZipBox Pro clamp-on matte box, which is a perfect match to the Canon's 95mm OD.

Also includes the original factory case.

In looking for a recent market price, there is not much to go on, but the two recent examples I found are both around £7500-£7800, one of which has sold (in June 2020). My example looks to be in the same condition if not probably slightly better. Here they are:
http://virtualdealer.tv/447/advert/Canon/10_6-180mm_T2_7-3_4/215972 - £7500 (Sold - 06/2020)

https://aimimage.com/product/kit-fo...on-10-6-180-super-16-t2-7-pl-mount-zoom-lens/ - £7810 (this one looks like a current listing)

I would be willing to accept a reasonable amount less than that, and as I said will include the Wooden Camera mattebox which is $400USD brand new.

£6500 / $8900USD...significantly less than the previously mentioned examples.

I am based on East Coast of the USA, but willing to ship worldwide.

Hey Jim!

This is the first I've seen of anyone mentioning using a S16 lens on a Komodo, but the idea is exciting. Do you know of anybody who is currently using that kind of setup?
Thanks!

Some Cameras, Some Lenses, Not much Sense

Hey Austin...I checked around myself some time ago for exactly that in the Komodo group on facebook. Some said they had done it with nice results and would try to post footage, although I never did hear back.

From what I can tell, my zoom should cover 2.8-3k on Komodo, however Komodo does not have a 3k/Super16 mode just yet...only 4k or 2k, so the best option would be shooting in 4k and cropping in post...and going 2k mode when in need of very high frame-rates.

I hope Red will implement a properly-sized Super16 mode on Komodo soon, as they do so on their other cameras, and it seems to me Komodo would be just awesome using such a combo. Would be fantastic on Helium, for example ...should cover 3.5k.

Blackmagic Pocket 4k or 6k would be a great fit as well, as IIRC they both offer a proper super16 mode at around 2.8k.

I myself used super16 glass on ye olde GH5 in crop mode (also a blackmagic micro-studio 4k), and both are able to completely cover 4k resolution on those. Beautiful results, VERY sharp (Used both this lens and a Cooke Super16 Varokinetal), although of course dynamic range is rather lacking on both those cameras.

Using on a Red of any sort promises to be VERY nice.

...And then there's that Blackmagic Ursa 12k...Believe it has a 6k Super16 mode. I'd love to see that.
