  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

more renders...

She turns herself round
And she smiles and she says
'This is it'
'That's the end of the joke'

And loses herself
In her dreaming and sleep
And her lovers walk
Through in their coats...

Don't examine the prototype that Ted is holding too closely.. alot has changed since then :)
Thanks! That is good to know.
I was also wondering if you will have any packages for the Fixed Scarlet. Like:
$4k. Comes with Viewfinder and Battery...
$4.5k Comes with Viewfinder, Display, IO Mod., and Battery...
$5k Comes with Viewfinder, Display, IO Mod., 2 Batteries, Rails, FollowFocus...

I would love that...(I know i won't get an answer, but I love to dream...) :)

I'd love to see audio knobs, although you wouldn't need a seperate lcd - just put the levels on the main lcd and the controller lcd - knobs on the other hand will be almost a necessity for solo shooting and very handy on other shoots for the sound guy to set up the levels without having to dive into the menus.

I agree completely. Any LCD should be built into the audio module & not a separate monitor.

Hi There Jim, I'm working on a presentation for our media department to budget in the purchase of a S35 Scarlet when they are released. In the proposal I'd like to use a picture of the red (in any configuration with the lens pointed toward the viewer) against a transparent background. If you wouldn't mind rendering that it would be great. I'm sure plenty of other people would like that as well.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read the posts and what your community has to say.

I don't quite understand the request.

I think it's so that the presentation's background will show through the transparency. Without the transparency (alpha channel), the presentation will have a white rectangle with the camera in it... like how it looks on RedUser posts vs Red.com. He wants the camera to perfectly blend into his custom presentation background.

Magic wand... delete.

Yes, thanks for the explanation Jason.

Thats right, I would like the background of the image to be clear instead of white. I would assume the render software has this option available. If not I can edit the images you currently have, it would simply look better if I had it rendered properly from the source.

Windowing

I cannot seem to post on the detailed specs page.

Jim; Is the 2k 60fps mode on the Scarlet S35 windowed or full sensor? Would like to know ;)

And can you put the Canon EF mount on the 2/3 scarlet? Of course with loosing a lot of wide angle but anyway.. ?

Getting both S35 and 2/3 anyways!

1. Have you got any offer from the big "camera company" to buy you guy out? Or is there a wedding between RED and Apple in the near future..hehe

2. Will there be a working model at NAB?

3. When is RED going to start offering IPO? ...i hope not on this question would love to see you guy be an independent company.

4. How does RED fit into the Avid work flow?

thank you for your time...

No "big company" sees us as a threat... since we are a scam. Any offer would be refused.

There should be a working model at NAB as well as footage.

No IPO in the works.

AVID is working on native r3d support now.

Jim-

This may be a sore subject, but what is RED's position on the "rolling shutter" problems posed by CMOS sensors? Though I am not an engineer, this doesn't seem like an un-solvable engineering problem. Is a global shutter one of the added features on the "Monstro" chip?

The concepts and price point proposed here are probably the biggest camera design innovation since the invention of silent cameras. Keep up the good work!
