We've waded through hundreds of threads titled "Waiting for Epic" this, and "Let's count Epic" that. The new Scarlet threads are really no different, but I'm afraid I have to agree with you grumpy bastards. Two and three years ago we saw a number of fairly high profile guys being chased away by some pretty aggressive and oft noisy individuals. I'm not sure their numbers have been replenished while the user count continues to climb. The noise level must be rising.
The longer I read here the easier it is to parse out thread titles that don't interest me and I've come to know which RedUsers post the most useful and insightful remarks. We now have a "Red Team" button has proven an invaluable tool to cut through the BS. I guess I've learned to cope pretty well and my overall experience seems to have improved a bit.
I appreciate what many of the folks here bring to the table, but I for one would not pay annual dues to read it. Becoming an owner... An actual RedUser should be payment enough. That is an idea that has been shot down many times before however.
This varied community seems to be a unique reflection of the company. Like anything it's an acquired taste and you have to accept it for what it is and take what you can from it. When the noise gets to be too much there are other places to go. For example; Geoff Boyle's CML mailing list is pretty substance dense.
My point is that personal filtering may be just what you need to get through this.
