  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

More failures since built 30?!

Somehow I get the feeling that I'm reading a lot of posts about corrupt frames, r3Ds not playing, dying CF cards recently. To be exact since built 30. Is it just me, because I got serious problems on one of my last shoots, or do you recognize this aswell?
Red gives a lot of possible reasons, but is it really realistic that suddenly all of our CF card readers and Fire Wire 800 cables went bad?
Serious doesn't it more sound like an unstable built?

I was wondering about this myself. We have had quite a few more problems with the camera recognizing the RED drives, since our conversion to MX. Since the problem is intermittent, I am not sure how to isolate the problem enough to report it.

Phil, file a support ticket with RED tech support (if you have not already) - most likely we'd need to get in your drives for eval here.

Thanks, BC

I also hear about quite a lot of problems with MXed cameras, but it's hard to say if those problems are related to the MX update or Build 30. Just helped out some guys on a short with data managing (backup, transcoding etc.) and out of a total of 12 "exposed" drives there were 4 empty folders and 5 clips that had dropped frames (5-second blank/green dropouts). All on a Build 30 non-MX camera. Scary! Keep a close eye on those cameras, guys!
