Hi everybody.

I have a question about red footage files.
sometimes happen to me that some .RDC folders contain more than one file of the same clip.
the name is exactly the same, except for a counter subfix (_002, _003 etc.) at the end, and the size is the same for the first two clips and much less for the third one.

here is a snapshot:

can somebody explain me what's the meaning of that and how can I avoid it?
thanks a lot for your time

You can't avoid it - that's how the camera sections it files. You'll get a lot of 2.35GB files and one file that is smaller. Try recording an hour long take of an interview and see how many you get :)

I knew it was something like that!
how does it work with conforming? is it easy to reconnect transcoded files to the original media after the editing?

thanks a lot for the quick reply!
