  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Monster Computer Build for RED Editing around 10,000$?

Thank alot for you guys comments. I've got a few thoughts after reading. Let me summary:

- A big Production would seperate Color and Editing workstation. It is not my case.
- A 2-in-1 Computer for Small Production like me. The iMac 5K 2015 seems best option Price/Performance. So far if I'm going with Imac 5K. And what is the best workflow to edit Red Raw (I'm no mean edit directly 4K since Imac cannot effort like desktop workstation), what is 2K workaround workflow?

Thank alot

The Tesla cards are like Quadro cards without video connectors and used for compute only. You will need another GPU to run your display(s).

Would the Tesla, beeing the coprocessor, be supporting A.D.D. in RCXP, for transcoding jobs?
Nvidia says it's GPU, though...

workflow is app dependent. Let's be honest you can record prores and use a computer from 2005 and skip raw too until grading? You know the way a professional post house would do it?

Or you can reduce playback settings or set up a HD timeline and make it full res at the end. There are many ways to avoid a five figure system and I highly advise doing so unless you truly need online cutting and coloring
