Monitoring Tools - In Camera or On Monitor?

With other cameras I've felt that monitoring tools were best dealt with in the monitor, but RED in the past has been a bit different with tools like Edge Focus that only work with RED Monitors, or Exposure False Color that utilize raw data. I don't have a camera in hand to confirm, but it looks like Edge Focus is kicked out over SDI with Komodo.

I'm curious to know what tools others are using most, and if they find the tools on camera offer any benefits over external monitor overlays.

I use the focus assist on my small hd mostly to pull focus , with a red monitor on top with clean feed.

I use focus assist set to 2 on the Red monitor menu and SDI out signal so focus assist on my kameleon uses the Raw data details to enhance it.
