  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Monitoring GoPro Hero 4's

You can use the app to monitor them and the wifi remote to control up to 50 cameras at once.

they have micro HDMI outs, but i've never gone that way so i cant confirm if it supports live monitoring or it's just for footage playback thats on the card.

Don't know of anything for live viewing. If the GoPro is not enclosed in the plastic housing, you could run a micro HDMI to standard HDMI into a wireless TX (Paralinx, etc) and use that to view playback remotely. Might be worth the effort if takes could be reviewed while everyone goes back to first position and several passes are planned.

Another workflow would be to use BlackMagic Micro Studio cameras which have SDI out and record to some kind of Prores recorder. Then you can actually do something about the exposure , whereas with hero4's it's kind of pointless.

I'd also look at the DJI Osmo which has manual exposure and histogram built into the app (possibly a waveform too), can be mounted in flashlight mode for lower profile to the ceiling for instance.

barring that 3x Paralinx wireless units would Rock - I recommend ACE HDMI transmitters with ACE SDI receivers.
