Hi everyone, I could really use some help here, my 7" touch LCD has suddenly stopped responding to touch, I rebooted the camera several times, even did a factory reset, but nothing seems to work. The monitor was working fine all day long, up until I powered up the camera for the last take of the day and the monitor just wouldn't respond to touch anymore. I don't know what to do, any ideas as to what might have gone wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Has to be the LCD cable is bad. Did you try another one? I have had this problem and have the bad cable quarantined. Very repeatable if I use that cable only but works fine with every other cable.

I bet its the Cable I had the same issue (also always have a back up Cable)

I really hope it is, makes more sense now that I think about it, I had a shoot last week where we had the monitor on a magic arm next to the camera and really had to twist the cable at an awkward angle to plug it in so that might have caused it. I hope I can get service for it.

So there's no way a repair can happen? Damn, really don't wanna have to buy another $200 cable.

Well, I guess you tryed but unplug the cable and plug it back nice and deep. It happened to me. I thought I might need to change this expensive cable but everything was fine after all.

I had this same problem. I troubleshot it and discovered it wasn't the cable or the camera. It was the monitor. (I tried a 5" on my camera and it worked fine. I tried my 7" on another camera and it still didn't respond to touch. I tried different cables to no avail.) I had to send my monitor in for repair. It took 8 weeks to get it back. From what I'm reading elsewhere on this forum it seems that the 7" is bunk.

Another vote for the cable here too as I've experienced it as well. No good way to repair the LEMO cables -- It's a real pain in the ass to desolder the connectors and rebuild. That would cost far more than just buying a new cable.

I recommend inspecting all the connectors involved here, so on the camera and monitor too. Make sure they're clean and all the pins and receptacles look in good order.

I did some tests with a different cable and LCD and the problem is my monitor, not my cable....looks like the touch sensor inside of it has died. Looks like I'll be sending it in for repair. I've only had it for about two months, I didn't expect it to have such an issue so quickly. I wish they were still selling the old 5" LCD.

I sent in a 5" touchscreen for repair once. Had a hairline crack on the external glass. Got an estimate for $ 1,200 and a new monitor costed I believe $ 1,400 and came with a new red LCD cable.
