Monitor Question

New Red User, looking into which accessories I want when my Scarlet-W arrives...

Is there any any advantage to circumventing the Red 7" monitor, and instead using the side handle + say, an Ikan monitor? I ask mostly in regards to the lower brightness level (and cost) of the Red 7" monitors. Is this viable/does anyone do something like this? Thanks!

You can, but the touch screen is a lot more intuitive/faster and combines both functions (control and monitoring) into one. Also, you don't really save that much money, side handle + a decent 3rd party monitor with SDI (new or used) basically comes out to almost the same as just getting the touch screen by itself. Keep in mind the 4.7" touch starts at 1450

With the new sidehandle you could actually be faster...and without fingerprints over the image!

It really depends if you are "touch" addicted or not!

Touchscreen all day for me. Think about the deeper levels of navigation required at certain times. Just go break your piggy bank open and by both. :cornut:
