Hi all!

Hope we're all good. I've got a little issue that has me stumped.

I'm experiencing monitor flickering when running the 7" touch through a Lemo A to B routed through the left/ side LCD port.

Things that have me slightly confused are:

- Routing the image through Lemo adapters from the Top monitor port. - No Flicker
- Running the monitor connected straight to the left LCD port. - No Flicker

So the left side port runs fine when the monitor is mounted directly through it, and also runs fine when the Lemo A is attached to the top LCD port. Which tells me the Lemo adapters are fine, the cables are fine, the ports are fine and the monitor is fine. But the specific combination of: LEFT LCD/ EVF PORT > LEMO A to LEMO B > 7" Touch - produces monitor flicker.

This is a video of the flicker I'm referring to:

I've flushed Firmware, ran a hardware rediscover, reset camera settings, cleaned pins with contact cleaner. I'm stumped

Has anyone ever experienced this/ suggest any troubleshooting or can this be chalked down to a 'redism'.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Cheers
Harry

Hey Harry

The good thing is that the monitor is working properly without adapters. So, to me, it still could be either one of the adapters or the cable, even if it worked when mounted to the interface on top. I'm not a DSMC2 user, but since you asked for "any troubleshooting", there you are:
Do you have a spare cable?
Did you overtighten some (adapter mounting) screws or the articulating arm? Is the screw for the articulating arm a tiny bit too long, maybe?
Try to mount the adapter B "vertically" (like the EVF port), using one of the 1/4"-20 threads facing towards us on the video.
Does it get worse or better when you move the LEMOs a bit?
Does it get worse or better when tilting the monitor (to exclude the monitor's hinge)?
Did you try
- to loosen the adapter A a tiny bit to realign it?
- this setup without battery attached (DC-IN only)?
- to switch between different monitoring frequencies?
- to switch between different formats?

Good luck!
Thomas

Hello Harry,
Were you able to resolve the issue? What did RED Support suggest you to do?

Hi Thomas,

So sorry for the criminally slow reply! I had a last minute job abroad with minimal internet so just got back to the land of the living.

Thanks so much for your reply. I did end up sorting it, I switched out both of my cables and it seems to have resolved. Seems like I got super unlucky and both my cables gave up around the same time.

I usually don't use the lemo adapters/ cables unless I'm doing gimbal work so the cables hadn't been used in a while, possibly DoA. Thanks again!
