monitor cropping?

i just added a 2.35:1 crop on the monitor to help frame my shots better, so when i crop in editing i know I'm fine

My question is...is it possible to crop 2.35:1 rather then just outlining a marker on the screen?

Looks like it can be cropped...am i wrong? is it just an EPIC setting?

i just found out that they were using anamorphic lenses thats why the monitor has cropping

but if it is possible, it'd be helpful

You can shoot a 2.4 crop with the Epic. New resolutions should be coming to the Scarlet with the next firmware update, so I'd assume at least a 2.4:1 option will be included. At some point I think I remember there being talk about custom resolutions, so hopefully in the future you can choose whatever custom crop you like in-camera.
