Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if any info was released about an ETA for Scarlet and Epic module prices at the Red Party?

Is there a chance RED will only release the prices when the first Scarlet is released? Help I'm diiiiiiiiiiieing for some info on this.

We'll be happy to post specs and prices when they are ready... well before you can order.

Edit: No actualy what I wanted to hear was "Oh hey Jono, for you, I will post the specs and prices online in five minutes. Also enjoy the brand new time tank you'll recieve in the mail in a weeks time. Did I mention how cool you are?"

Lol

do not guesstimate like that robert or your producer will think that you'll end up buying a plane instead.

Budget a R1. If you are doing numbers on a project that's going into production this year you could add ~5k for the sensor upgrade.

I doubt you'd see delivery on anything in the Epic/Scarlett line before Q1 next year if you don't have a low serial number camera in hand.

Otherwise it seems to reason that since a full R1 package is about $45k you can add about 15k to that and be safe; question is, will you see a camera in time if you bet on the DSMC? I doubt it and I wouldn't go pissing my producer off trying to convince them otherwise.

Give your producer some certainty and be done with it. When the numbers for next gen are ready they will be there. In the near term get what you can and shoot your film.

If it's more than 6 months out your budget probably has more variables in it than the MIT computer science department anyway...
