How tightly are you supposed to screw on the module adapter on the Epic X.

If I tighten it too much my pro i/o unit seems to stop working. Is that what others are experiencing?

wow that is quirky. Do you have another module adapter with which to repeat a test? Or another Epic-X? I can't imagine it would be designed this way, and certainly not just from casual tightening/loosening. I would expect this behavior more from being loose, but even that is a long shot.

Do the pins look okay (on both the MA and the back of the camera)? Sounds like as one gets pressed, it moves to the point of losing contact.

Doesn't sound right. You should never have to overcrank any screw or bolt on a camera for a secure attachment.

Robert.

When you offer the module adaptor up to the camera body, before you actually tighten the fasteners, does it rock on the mounting face from a high spot anywhere or does it rest firm without any rocking movement. If it has a high spot which causes the item or the camera body itself to twist to conform when the fasteners are tightened, this might open an electrical joint somewhere else. As a temp fix if you urgently need it, a thin paper shim ( cigarette paper even ) under a "high" corner to stop the rocking before tightening down might help. Another temp solution might be to loosen the Pro I/O fasteners before attaching the module adaptor, then retighten them after you tighten the module adaptor down. That may not be possible if one piggybacks on the other.

Offtopic. Do you know if any of the owners in Perth have the Abel Cine "null" reference lens?

Yes. I have another module adapter. That worked with the quad battery module but not with my pro io on my camera at all. Pins are all ok. Pro i/o checked by Red and all ok. Very frustrating.
